Auto Frozen Biscotti 1kg single-plant dry harvest by 420autoflower

In this grow review, you can see how Auto Frozen Biscotti was pushed to her limits by the renowned hydro expert 420autoflower delivering a stunning 1070g (38oz) dry harvest in 98 days! 420autoflower kindly shares every aspect of his unique and effective hydroponic scrog technique with multiple severe defoliations (‘schwazzing’).

He has become an inspiration to many growers who are replicating his grow technique to great effect. The original grow diary on Autoflower Network (‘AFN’) starts on day 35 halfway down this page.

Auto Frozen Biscotti grow report by 420autoflower

Germination rate: No remarks about the germination, 1 autoflower seed didn’t pop but for the rest all went well.

Germination details: I mark my zip lock baggies with the names of the cultivars with a sharpie pen and then place the wet paper towel with the seeds inside the bag. After they shoot out a tail, I carefully place them in 3.8cm (1.5″) Grodan starter cubes and drop them into a Grodan 10 x 10cm (4″ x 4″) rockwool block after they sprout.

Vegetative growth: Autos, so veg and flower automatically. They never shut off (24 hours light per day).

Stretch during flowering: Solid stretch and vigorous growth.

Type of grow room: A garage with no climate control, plants are grown in tents.

Size of grow room: They spent most of their life in a 70 x 70cm (28″ x 28″) tent but at a certain point they outgrew it and were moved to a bigger one.

Number of plants: 1 in each tent with 2 different lighting set-ups.

Type / size of pots: She grew in a 23 x 15cm (9″ x 6″) chunk of Grodan Hugo block (rockwool) with a 10 x 10cm (4″ x 4″) cube stacked on top.

Grow medium: Hydro.

Nutrients: BGeneral Hydroponics FloraNova Grow/Bloom as my main N-P-K.

Grow techniques: My personal 420autoflower SCROG-method.

Average temperature: Average was around 30°C (80 Fahrenheit)

Average humidity: RH in the low 40’s during late flower.

Grow lights: A $109 240-watt FarmLite.

Light distance from canopy: 30cm (12″) in general – added canopy lights during the last part of the grow.

A single Auto Frozen Biscotti cannabis seed was grown by 420autoflower. He is without doubt one of the world’s most accomplished hydroponic growers, regularly harvesting around 1kg (35.3oz) from each autoflower seed he germinates. He cultivates mostly indoors under LED with his SCROG and schwazzing technique, though he occasionally moves his hydro setup outdoors with the same outrageous results.

This grow journal features a standout Auto Frozen Biscotti. One of the highest-yielding, terpiest and frostiest results ever! This particular plant delivered a jaw-dropping 1070g (2.4lbs) of dry buds. This shows what serious home growers can achieve with top-tier autoflower seed varieties, good technique and patience.

In simple terms, 420autoflower achieves his insane yields thanks to his grow method. The repeated, severe trims/schwazzing slows down the autoflower grow cycle to around 100-120 days. This allows extra time for the 24-hour LED light to build numerous hefty blooms. You can see other growers asking advice and successfully implementing 420autoflowers grow method in their own gardens in the original AFN diary.

Many are now copying the straightforward SCROG & schwazz technique and are massively levelling up their own results thanks to 420autoflower’s generous advice and detailed tips. A genuine old-school gentleman grower sharing his craft as transparently as he can!

Cannabis seed germination

No special remarks, besides having a single autoflower seed which didn’t sprout, germination went as planned/normal. For those following his online diary, the autoflower seed germination was on July 27 2025.

Vegetative stage

After 37 days of veg growth (Sept 6th, 2025) the schwazzed Auto Frozen Biscotti was flattened down under the SCROG net. This opened up the full length of the branches to direct LED light, setting the foundations for numerous blooms. The professional breeding behind Dutch Passion autos ensures that every strain in the collection is capable of being pushed this hard.

Despite the tough-looking techniques being imposed on the Auto Frozen Biscotti, the Dutch Passion autoflower breeding regime produces high-endurance genetics which will thrive even in demanding conditions. Within a couple of weeks, the Auto Frozen Biscotti had fully adapted and was growing rapidly.

Flowering stage

Enjoy the insane pictures as Auto Frozen Biscotti powered through the cannabis flowering phase with numerous long, perfectly stacked sticky blooms. The technique of 2-3 heavy schwazzing sessions, 24-hour light and expert hydroponic care allowed a full canopy of fat and frosty blooms to emerge.

Day 54

Day 60

Day 71

Auto Frozen Biscotti was harvested on 10/20/25, 98 days after autoflower seed germination. Normally, without the high-stress grow techniques, the grow cycle would be complete in around 10-11 weeks.

The additional 3 weeks, or so, of growth allowed these high-performance auto genetics to really pile on the buds/resin under 24/7 light and deliver the outrageous results.

Wet weight 6kg (13.3lbs). Dry weight 1070g or 2.4 pounds. The $109 240watt FarmLite that grew this plant produced 4.45 grams per watt.

Observations and expert growing tips

420autoflower, as always, shared plenty of useful advice with those following his autoflower seed grow:

  • On grow media choice: Stacked 4×4 glass-wool blocks, Hugo blocks or 2-gallon bags of grow cubes/coco all work well. The big 8×8 blocks are overkill and expensive.
  • On lighting: The 240W FarmLites are excellent value for 80 x 80cm (32″ x 32″) tents. Great for both veg and flower.
  • On hydro setup: High-frequency fertigation drives explosive growth. Simple DIY systems can be built cheaply. He runs mycorrhizae in the reservoir during veg and early stretch, then stops. Tops off with RO water + main nutes (no extra CalMag needed). EC management is key — higher in veg, dialled back in late flower to avoid salt buildup.

This grow perfectly showcases what Dutch Passion Auto Frozen Biscotti can deliver: compact structure, massive yields and top-shelf quality.

Auto Frozen Biscotti is highly recommended for growers who want serious potency and bag appeal from an XXL yielding autoflower seed variety. She is a resilient and unfussy strain to grow. She boasts famously wide grow latitude too. Whether you grow naturally or run advanced SCROG/hydro like 420autoflower, these fully proven, high-THC autoflower seeds deliver some of the best results you are ever likely to experience.

Comments & questions asked by other growers during the diary

Drownomatic asked:

I see 10cm rock wool cubes on top of 15cm, and at times multiple 15cm cubes. I see that 20cm cubes are available, but no mention of anyone using them. I wonder if, with autos, the proportions of the media influence when it flowers. Does a stack of three x 10cm cubes act the same as a single 15cm cube? It’s almost the same volume but allows the roots to go deeper. I know that part of the growth is due to frequent dry backs, which will be less with larger media.

420autoflower replied:

I’ve grown big autos with stacked 10 x 10cm blocks, 23 x 15cm Hugo blocks, 7.6L bags filled with Grodan Grow Cubes and also 7.6L bags filled with coco/perlite, and I honestly can’t say one is better than the other. The Big Mammas (20 x 20cm blocks) are overkill IMHO and they also cost too much.

GasPlease asked:

I ordered a 80 x 80 x 160cm tent that unzips on 3 sides. I chose the best option that could be delivered the fastest.

It was only $70 so not too bad and should be here Monday. The plan is to scrog the plant by herself since she still doesn’t have pistils. I think thats the right play to get the most out of each plant?

I might also need a light depending on the timing of the harvest of my other plants. I grabbed this 150W one mainly for the dual modes because I saw some talk about reds causing flower. I had to order within 30 minutes to get the tent delivered on time so I didn’t get to do much research or shopping around. Any opinions or suggestions for future purchases.

420autoflower replied:

Having the option to turn down your reds is a great feature and would be good for a veg/preflower light, but 150 watts is a bit under powered for flower in your 7 sq ft tent. 30-35watts per sq ft is basically rule of thumb with this grow method. IMHO… the $116 240watt FarmLites are the best bang for your buck and are perfect for 80 x 80cm tents. I’m still using my old Maxisun lights to veg with and they have 10 red diodes per 100watts.

Drownomatic asked:

Just about enough confidence/foolishness to try rockwool cubes. Would stacking 15cm cubes or making a pyramid of 1 on top of 4 or 9 be the soil equivalent of a massive container and need less frequent watering?

I’ve seen bags of rockwool cubes. Can I just fill a 19L airpot with these and water once a day?

420autoflower replied:

That would work but if you want prolonged veg time and explosive growth you might want to consider high frequency fertigation. You can build a simple DIY hydro unit for about $35.

KrackenPh asked:

Are you running a sterile reservoir — using something like peroxide — or a live one with mycorrhizal fungi and similar additives?

420autoflower replied:

I do run Mycos in my reservoirs with GH FloraNova Grow but stop after stretch is over.

GreatWhite asked:

Do you top your reservoir with plain RO (reverse osmosis) water or add a little Calmag? Would a 19L reservoir for recirculating be enough …or would you go higher?

420autoflower replied:

I top off with R/O and my main NPK mixed in. I don’t add extra CalMag since the GH FloraNova Grow already has it.

From veg until after preflower stretch my EC drops due to fast growth, so I mix my nutes to about 750-800ppm and don’t let it drop below 650ppm.

During mid to late flower my EC always rises from salt build up so I usually mix my nutes weak (550ppm). If it’s still too high, I add more 15ppm R/O or 20ppm dehumidifier water to bring it down. Pump out and refilling with fresh nutes is done when EC is out of control.
