Meringue grown with SCROG by Antonio
Meringue feminised seeds grow report
Meringue seeds were created by hybridising the parent strains Wedding Cake and Animal Cookies. This indica/sativa hybrid feminised strain takes around 9 weeks to bloom. What makes Meringue seeds so interesting for serious growers are the extreme THC levels of over 20%. This makes Meringue a member of Dutch Passions collection of Extremely High THC seeds.
Meringue suits the grower aiming for the highest quality buds and the best potency. However, yields are also very good and it is easy to grow. If you like fast blooming feminised seeds with an exceptionally potent vape/smoke then Meringue seeds should be in your seed stash! Read on

Important remarks
Meringue seeds germination
Germination was pretty straightforward. Within 4 days all the seeds germinated except 1, which seemed to not pop at all, even a few days nothing happened, probably a dud.
Meringue vegetative phase (18/6 light)
5 of the best plants were chosen for bloom during the VEG growth. Four of the plants looked quite similar. The other one looked more Indica dominant, showing a broader leaf structure, shorter internodal distance and a darker green colour.
One thing that caught the attention of the grower were the big fan leaves and the unusually elongated stems of the leaves. The leaves were really pointed outwards with quite some distance to the main stem. Vigorous growth, big stems and some stretch during the veg growth period was seen, even though the light levels were high enough to not encourage any stretch.
Meringue bloom/flowering period (12/12 light)
During early flowering the plants were still growing vigorously. They had a lot of new growth and big leaves that pointed outwards. 2 of the 4 plants had really tight internodal stacking, the one in the back (right side) showed more stretch.
After 14 days there wasn’t a lot of flower development, the hairs were just popping out. At the end of week 3 resin development started and at the end of week 4 there was already quite some resin on the leaves and the flowers, small sugar leafs became coated.
The one in the back (left side) was the most beautiful plant. The 2 plants on the right side are a little bigger. At the end of week 6 there are a lot of buds that had orange pistils already, they seem to ripen very fast. This led to smaller nuggets than we expected, but luckily all plants showed amazing resin production. They also became very compact, rock hard really. Despite being small they had quite some weight. The buds didn’t stack that well, there was quite some nodal distance, which probably ensured smaller bud formation.
Meringue cannabis seeds harvest report
Final Height: Difficult to say, since this was a scrog grow. Medium stretch.
Calyx-leaf ratio (Easy trim/yes or no): Yes, calyx-leaf ratio was pretty good. Could be picked by hand mostly. Only the plant that deviated from the rest had a few too many leaves in the buds.
Quality (Resin/Smell/Compactness): Very potent look and nice coloration in some phenotypes, beautiful to look at! The smell varied from skunky, fruity to sweet more candy-like.
Yield: Total yield was 335g + 15g of small buds = 350 grams. The biggest plant (left rear) yielded about 120g dry. The plant that was deformed only yielded about 32 g.
Remarks after curing: Once dried and cured the smell became much better, more pungent and a lot sweeter. It definitely improved the sweetness of this strain. The more skunky aroma disappeared and the candy, fruity aroma took over. A big improvement.

Observations and tips to grow Meringue
During growth most plants actually seemed to be quite homogenous. Leaf structure was hybrid-like and the thing that stood out the most was definitely the way the leafs were pointed out, and upwards, from the main stem. Because of this unusual growth pattern more leaf picking (removal) was necessary, otherwise the lower buds would have not received enough light.
Because of the slightly larger internodal distance, the buds don’t become really big. This makes Meringue an attractive/interesting feminised strain for growers who have to deal with higher humidity levels. We would recommend to look for the plants that show the most hybrid leaf and plant structure. These became the biggest and best yielding phenotypes.
Even though this growth cycle had one of the 4 plants with a deformity (the more Indica looking one in VEG) the yield was still pretty good, and yields of 400-500 g/m2 should be possible. Quality wise there is nothing to complain about at all. Even the deformed plant became very resinous and compact and packed a serious punch.
All the Meringue plants were rock hard and very resinous. They were literally glistening with THC crystals. Lab results showed almost all phenotypes were close to (or above) 20% THC. Definitely a strong cannabis strain with a uniquely, fruity yet subtle aroma and taste.
