Skywalker Haze grow report by Maximilian1234

In this grow by Maximilian1234, 4 Skywalker Haze plants were grown indoors in soil under SANlight LED. Despite being an easy grow with straightforward growth, the yield was particularly heavy with numerous chunky blooms that filled the drying nets!

Skywalker Haze is a blindingly powerful and ‘frosty’ Haze hybrid with THC levels around (and sometimes above) 20%. The autoflower seed version, Auto Skywalker Haze has exceeded 26% THC! Skywalker Haze is sativa dominant feminised seed variety. Most repeat growers love the high-end yields and intense lemony-Haze taste coupled with the slamming powerful classical Haze effects.

I’m absolutely satisfied. Looking back, I can say that Skywalker Haze is a very easy-to-grow, old-school strain. The smell is delicious.

Container: Standard circular grow pots of 18 litre (4gal)

Grow medium: Plagron Soil

Nutrients: Plagron – Pure Zym, Sugar Roots, Sugar Royal, Terra Blooms, Power Buds, Green Sensation

Grow lights: EVO-4 120 SANlight x2 (excellent performance)

Light distance: 30cm/ 1ft throughout. Light intensity was gradually increased throughout the grow.

Average temperature: Around 28ºC (82F)

Average humidity: 45% in late bloom

Grow techniques: The SCROG method was used, branches grown horizontally under a net with only the buds emerging vertically

Stretch in bloom: SCROG net used, so difficult to say. “It seems like stretching is less than expected. The net is full though, so everything is fine”

Skywalker Haze grow report by Maximilian1234

Skywalker Haze represents the pinnacle of Haze hybrid genetics. She took 3rd place at the tightly contested 2020 Homegrown Cup and is one of those ultra-reliable special strains that combine exceptionally heavy yields with high-end quality and an authentic old-school lemon citrus Haze stench.

Maximilian1234 had no real grow issues other than some fungus gnats (a common issue with many supermarket/grow-shop soils). These were dealt with by beneficial predator mites. He gave his plants a 4-week period of vegetative growth followed by a 9–10-week cannabis bloom.

The plants are at their limit. It’s amazing what’s developed here in the last 9 weeks.

Skywalker Haze grew well throughout. The soil had some perlite added to it (improving aeration) and the plants were topped at weeks 4-5. Cannabis topping involves removing the growth tip to create a bushier, shorter structure.

Branches were then tied down, this technique is known as LST – Low Stress Training. LST was also applied in weeks 6-8 and week 10. Use of a SCROG net also helped create a level canopy of blooms all equidistant from the high-quality SANlight LEDs.

Some cannabis defoliation was also performed in weeks 7-8. This involves removing excess leaf material to improve light penetration to lower buds.

Here are some quotes from the grower as cultivation progressed.

The Skywalker Haze is finally starting. I’m growing in regular potting soil. Keep your fingers crossed, may the juice be with us.

Hello, four weeks later, the ladies look like this. No nitrogen fertilizer was added. Only the Plagron soil was used. I topped the girls once after about two weeks in anticipation of a strong stretch. The plan is to feed them organically during veg and only add mineral fertilizer during flowering. Development went well and quite quickly, the usual quality from Dutch Passion.

It’s starting to bloom. I love seeing how quickly the plants develop and how they grow after changing the light cycle to 12/12. From now on, I’ll be using Plagron’s mineral nutrients every time I water. Fungus gnats are a real nuisance, but thanks to predators they should soon be a thing of the past. I’m excited!

Flowering week 2

Week 2 is approaching, and the plants are doing quite well. Midweek, I installed a SCROG net to maximise the use of the growing area. The plants transitioned from organic to mineral nutrients without any problems. The first signs of blooming were visible very quickly. The water requirement slowly increased. The SANlight’s intensity was set at 70% by the end of the week.

Flowering week 4

The work seems to be paying off and Dutch Passion are proving what they have to offer. The stretch is finally finally coming to a stop. Due to growth / appearance, I have raised the EC value a bit. The lights have been at 100% power since the beginning of the week. The humidity has occasionally reached 35%, despite humidifiers in the room. But the Skywalker has handled this without a hitch. So far, very easy to grow with a good appetite for nutrients. The only thing I would have imagined differently is a bigger stretch, as she is sativa-dominant. A slight calcium deficiency is noticeable on the lower leaves. But this could also be due to the high EC value.

Flowering week 5

My mouth is slowly watering. The flowers are developing at full speed! There wasn’t really much to do this week. A few wilted leaves below the foliage were removed. Every two days the ladies get 10l of water with an EC of 2.5. I haven’t found any signs of over-feeding so far. The calcium deficiency has stayed under control thanks to Calmag. I’m very glad to have the Scrog net, the blooms will probably become too heavy towards the end.

Flowering week 6

What can I say? The flowers are getting fatter and firmer. I’m actually only watering every two days. There’s nothing else to do. Fungus gnats are barely visible anymore. The predators have delivered. Skywalker is a very easy-to-grow variety.

Flowering week 8:

A wonderful fragrance wafts through the air as I open the tent. The flowers are still swelling. The Skywalker truly seems to have a direct connection to the Force. I’ll definitely grow her again! Some of the blooms seem much too heavy for the stems. The netting is paying off again in this respect. A slight deficiency is noticeable on the lower leaves. But that’s fine with me; I’ll be feeding for the last time at the end of this week.

Get the scissors ready; very easy to cut! Now everything stays in the dark for about 10 days at 18ºC /64F and 55-58% humidity.

Although no final harvest quantity was given (Germany has a maximum legal 3-plant harvest limit of just 50g / 1.75oz), the yield was generous with many chunky blooms.

One of the biggest threats was a fungus gnat infestation, a not-infrequent issue with shop-bought soil and a real nuisance. Maximilian1234 tackled this with beneficial predator insects – these can be bought easily online and are very effective. One other useful tip is occasional use of a UV light, these are highly effective at reducing flying pests.

Blooms will need supporting – One recurring comment from repeat Skywalker Haze growers is the frequent need to support the blooms, which otherwise collapse under their own weight. Other than that it was good to see Maximilian1234 comment so often that there was little to do or worry about during the grow. That’s a sign of robust, professionally-bred genetics. This should be reassuring to those looking to buy Haze cannabis seeds for a future grow.

Interested in growing your own branch-bending crop of high-THC Haze buds? Skywalker Haze feminised seeds are dependable, high-quality & fully proven. But you may want to consider the autoflower seed version, Auto Skywalker Haze. Made with the same insanely potent genetics, Auto Skywalker Haze has recorded the highest independently measured THC level of any Dutch Passion strain at over 26% THC!

Skywalker Haze still ranks as one of Dutch Passion’s best Haze hybrids. Famously powerful, euphoric and uplifting with genuine XL yields and a fresh Haze aroma. She’s easy to grow and the 9–10-week bloom time completes an unbeatable all-round Haze package.
